Fundfly was formed in 2020 to address the needs of hard-working people who are doing all the right things, yet are still unable to reduce or eliminate the amount of their student loans.
While millions of Americans are held down by student debt, the federal government has been talking for months (years?) about how student loan debt cancellation is just around the corner. Student loan forgiveness programs do help, but not all with student loan debt meet the requirement.
When a person asks for help paying off student loans from their community, the are likely to be met with answers like “I paid off my student loans debts by myself. Why shouldn’t you,” or “It’s your own fault for taking on so much debt to get an education, so why should I help you?”
We founded Fundfly to give our friends in this situation a place to share their story. The universal statement “I need help paying off my student loans” has millions of stories behind it. Those with courage to make this statement are not lazy people floating through life - they are your fellow citizens who have a plan to change the world for the better, and secondary education is an essential part of that plan.
We’ve seen how crowdfunding has been successful in helping individuals out with unexpected and unaffordable medical expenses and life event expenses. We’ve seen crowdfunding finance new business ventures. We thought, “well why not student loans?”
We aren’t looking to single-handedly solve the $1.7 trillion student debt problem. Our goals are threefold:
Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn your life around.
We at Fundfly want to restore your hope, student debt holders. Your need is not forgotten and there are many who stand ready and willing to help. If you are brave enough to share your story, and to genuinely ask for help, we believe that your friends, family, and community will hear your need and respond.
